Meet Rob, your Layla Travel Curator

I'm Rob, a Travel Curator at Layla, based in Berlin, with 10 years of international travel and logistics experience. Before joining Layla, I spent six years organising esports tournaments and four years managing teams. This took me across nearly every continent, coordinating complex travel arrangements for athletes and media teams and sourcing unique experiences along the way. That experience taught me how to solve logistical challenges, work with people around the world, and make even the most complicated plans come together smoothly.

My career in esports gave me the opportunity to travel widely and connect with people from all over the world. What I love most about travel is the sheer scale of the world and the people it brings together. There's always somewhere new to discover, a different perspective to learn from, or an experience that makes a journey memorable. Today, I bring that same curiosity and problem-solving mindset to planning trips at Layla. I don't focus on one particular region. Instead, I draw on detailed research and a broad network of contacts with first-hand knowledge of destinations around the world. Even if I haven't personally visited a place, I know how to find the right people and information to help build a well-informed itinerary.

I'm particularly passionate about adventure-style holidays, from road trips through Latin America to multi-country journeys across Southeast Asia. I love helping travellers discover unique experiences and find the right balance between exploration, comfort, time, and budget. My international network helps me research destinations beyond my own travel experience, while my background in event logistics gives me a practical understanding of what it takes to make a complicated journey run smoothly.
